9 Days 8 Nights

Between the evening of a waning crescent moon and the night of a new moon, the exhibition architecture of  9 Days 8 Nights  invites you to inhabit an instrument(ality) for poetic measurement of plural durations of being. An environment of specially devised musical, kinetic and tactile instruments are calibrated, activated and played in daily choreographed concerts of sounds, signs and stories over the last days before the Hebrew new year. The tuned space of Agva CIAT offers subtle and critical listenings into the ecological and cosmological dimensions of temporal structures.

9 Days 8 Nights is part of the Sono-Choreographic Collective’s current long-term artistic research, titled  Templuralities,  that listens in to and looks out for time cosmologies that offer alternatives to the linear-progressive model of time dominated in and by modern Western societies.

Coming from practices of sculpture, music and dance respectively, Kerstin Ergenzinger, Bnaya Halperin-Kaddari and Kiraṇ Kumār, form the Sono-Choreographic-Collective for transdisciplinary art and research. Working through their multi-disciplinary studio practices, and also through interdisciplinary dialogues with other artistic and scientific interlocutors, the collective actively seeks out transdisciplinary thought, collaboration and play in order to explore notions of subtlety, embodiment and consciousness through the arts.
